About Renee
Evelyn Renee O’Connor was born February 15, 1971, in Houston, TX, and grew up just outside the city in Katy, TX. Renee attended the Houston High School of Visual and Performing Arts, and graduated from Taylor High School. Renee has two children: Miles, born in 2001 (with New Zealand native Steve Muir); and daughter Iris, born in 2006 (with boyfriend Jed Sura).
Renee is best known for her role as Gabrielle on the television series Xena: Warrior Princess. Prior to Xena, Renee appeared in several movies including Darkman II: The Return of Durant, Follow the River, and Hercules and the Lost Kingdom.
Renee’s diverse credits also include Shakespeare by the Sea’s 2002 production of “Macbeth”, producing and starring in the independent film Diamonds and Guns (2003/08), and starring in the 2004 independent film One Weekend a Month. She also directed two episodes of Xena.
In 2009, Renee wrote, directed, and produced the independant short film Words Unspoken, produced by her production company ROC Pictures.
Renee’s most recent movie work includes the movies Boogeyman 2 (2008), Monster Ark (2008), Bitch Slap (2009), and Beyond the Farthest Star (2010).
Renee is also a talented artist. She sometimes sells her painting on her eBay site.
